My pre and post-doctoral specialty training in Clinical Health Psychology/Behavioral Medicine and subsequent work as a Licensed Psychologist allowed me the vantage point of working in various healthcare settings over the years. In fact, I count working with multidisciplinary healthcare teams among my career highlights which allowed me to become familiar with both inpatient hospital and outpatient medical clinics. I understand the challenges of providers and I enjoy collaboration for better patient care, as well as providing psychotherapy and consultation to physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals directly for their own needs.
The Joy of Medicine Program was developed by the Sierra Sacramento Valley Medical Society to build resilience, provide connection, and reduce burnout for physicians. It is my privilege to be a vetted provider of Resiliency Consultations for the program, which offer up to 6 lifetime "confidential, convenient, competent and cost-free" sessions to help promote greater resiliency and reduce stress for physicians, fellows, residents and medical students in the greater Sacramento area. I welcome referrals for adult patients and can help with appropriate referrals in the event I am not a good fit. I have worked with patients with a wide variety of medical conditions, including but not limited to diabetes, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, thyroid disease, cancer, insomnia, sleep apnea, chronic pain conditions, other auto-immune disorders, and obesity/eating disorders. I enjoy coordinating care with other providers to support patients' medical and psychological health and overall treatment goals.
I am not an in-network provider for insurance companies, but I am happy to provide a Superbill for your patients and guide them through the process of seeking reimbursement if they have a PPO insurance plan. I provide short and long term psychotherapy in my accessible office, as well as Walk and Talk Therapy along the American River Parkway.
Is there a topic or need you might have for in-service staff presentations, peer consultation, or workshops/groups for your patients? Here are just a few examples of topics I've covered in the past. Feel free to ask me about a topic of special interest for your need.
