It is a privilege to be affiliated with the Joy of Medicine Program which was developed by the Sierra Sacramento Valley Medical Society to build resilience, provide connection, and reduce burnout for physicians. I am a vetted provider of Resiliency Consultations for the program, which offer up to 6 lifetime "confidential, convenient, competent and cost-free" sessions to help promote greater resiliency and reduce stress for physicians, fellows, and residents in the greater Sacramento area.
The Sacramento Bee recently highlighted the program in a news article on physician burnout and wellness. To learn more simply contact me at (916) 206-1741 and mention your interest in the Joy of Medicine program. Although not covered by the Joy of Medicine program, I reserve a limited number of reduced fee consultations for local medical students.
I also facilitate a monthly Joy of Medicine Physician Peer Group which allows local physicians to connect and share their successes and challenges in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
I provide consultation and counseling for physicians in Sacramento, California. As a result of pre and post-doctoral specialty training in Clinical Health Psychology and Behavioral Medicine, and my work as a Licensed Psychologist, I've had the vantage point of working in both inpatient hospital and outpatient medical settings. This has allowed me to understand the unique challenges as well as the positive experiences physicians and other healthcare providers face. In fact, I count my work in multidisciplinary healthcare teams among my career highlights and I enjoy collaboration for better patient care.
I also welcome referrals for adult patients and can help with appropriate referrals in the event I am not a good fit. I have worked with patients with a wide variety of medical conditions, including but not limited to diabetes, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, thyroid disease, cancer, insomnia, sleep apnea, chronic pain conditions, other auto-immune disorders, and obesity/eating disorders. I enjoy coordinating care with other providers to support patients' medical and psychological health and overall treatment goals.
I am not an in-network provider for insurance companies, but I am happy to provide a Superbill for your patients and guide them through the process of seeking reimbursement if they have a PPO insurance plan. I provide short and long term psychotherapy in my accessible office, as well as Walk and Talk Therapy along the American River Parkway.
I am happy to provide consultation to physicians in Sacramento, as well as other allied health professionals. Is there a topic or need you might have for in-service staff presentations, peer consultation, or workshops/groups for your patients? Here are just a few examples of topics I've covered in the past. Feel free to ask me about a topic of special interest for your need.
